$50 Million Makeover Coming For Oceania Ships

Oceania Cruises is spending big bucks — $50 million, to be exact — to refurbish its three older ships, the 684-passenger Regatta, Insignia and Nautica.
The upgraded Insignia will debut on May 8 in Barcelona for its first cruise for Oceania after completing a two-year charter. Nautica will debut on May 16 in Civitavecchia while Regatta will re-emerge on June 7 in Vancouver.
The renovation will encompass all public rooms, suites and staterooms. The ships will get many features that debuted on the newer ships, including Baristas coffee bar and the grill in the Terrace Café, which serves steaks, lobster tails and chops.
While all staterooms will get new décor, the Owner’s and Vista Suites will receive new bathrooms with oversized showers and new marble and granite vanities.
The main lounges will get new carpeting, chairs and upholstery, while the pool deck will get new furniture and tile work. New steam and changing rooms will be installed in The Canyon Ranch Spa Club.
The Sports Deck atop the ship will feature a new mini-golf course, shuffleboard courts and deck games.
