Oceania Cruises to Host Food & Wine’s Annual Wine Voyage
Posted on January 14, 2013
Food & Wine Trails is accepting bookings for Food & Wine magazine’s fourth annual wine voyage departing Oct. 11 on Oceania Cruises’ Riviera. Tenuta dell’Ornellaia, an Italian winery, is a host. The seven-day cruise departs from Monte Carlo and concludes in Civitavecchia.
Leonardi Raspini, Ornellaia’s general manager, will sail on the voyage along with Food & Wine’s long-time wine expert Anthony Giglio. The two will preside over private events that include a vertical tasting of Ornellaia vintages and a five-course, wine-paired dinner.
When the ship visits Livorno, the port of call for Tuscany, Ornellaia will open its estate, which is normally closed to the public, for an optional private group luncheon and tour. Other optional tours include a tour of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, with a wine-paired luncheon cooked by a Michelin-starred chef and a private tasting Domaine de la Janasse, from the French port of Marseille. In Sorrento, the group has the option to go to a private tasting and lunch at Azienda Sorrentino Winery.
The price of the Food & Wine wine voyage begins at $2,624 per person, double occupancy, and includes Oceania’s free air from 26 U.S. airports. Bookings made before March 31 will receive a $100 shipboard credit and prepaid gratuities.
